Marc Glendening's paper quoted by the Telegraph
IEA Head of Cultural Affairs Marc Glendening’s paper, Transgender Ideology: A new threat to liberal values has been featured in a Telegraph article discussing the totalitarian implications of the left’s new thinking.
The Telegraph wrote:
“The Institute for Economic Affairs (IEA) published a report on Wednesday which draws a number of controversial conclusions regarding how the debate surrounding trans issues poses a threat to ‘liberal society.’
“There are concerning indications that a future Labour government would introduce new ‘hate speech’ legislation, with serious implications for freedom of speech.
“Among the IEA report’s other conclusions are that ‘many supporters of transgender ideology do not aim to win the debate but rather to prevent debate from occurring’, that proposed laws facilitating gender self-identification ‘have serious implications’ for single-sex spaces, sports and businesses and that ‘maintaining free speech in this area, as in others, is essential if we are to defend a liberal society based on rationality rather than coercion’.”
