In her bi-weekly column for Conservative Home, IEA Head of Media Emily Carver suggests it would be wrong to make misogyny a hate crime just because of the public outcry around the tragic death of Sarah Everard.

Emily argues: “hate crime legislation creates a scenario in which thoughts and ideas are subject to the criminal law – an Orwellian overreach of state power that has no place in our liberal democracy“.
