IEA Director of Communications Annabel Denham has written an article for The Telegraph suggesting that the government is being too slow to ease lockdown restrictions despite the success of the UK’s vaccine roll-out.
Annabel argues that we must rediscover our libertarian instincts, and prevent government restrictions on our liberty from becoming the norm post-pandemic: “Disregarding personal liberty when the risk is uncertain, immediate and absolute is defensible. Allowing government to “wrap its arms” around us while trampling on our freedom when that threat has manifestly been downgraded is not“.
