Julian Jessop quoted in the Daily Mail
IEA Economics Fellow, Julian Jessop was featured in today’s Daily Mail article discussing Goldman Sachs’ new inflation projection.
The article references a forecast from the financial services giant, projecting that inflation could drastically increase to 22.4 per cent, eclipsing the 13 per cent rate projected by the Bank of England.
Commenting on the forecasts, Julian warned that they may be too pessimistic due to the likelihood of reduced wholesale gas prices through the winter. Nonetheless, he argued that “it is essential that the Government has a contingency plan in case energy bills rise even further in 2023”.
