In an op-ed for Conservative Home, IEA Head of Cultural Affairs Marc Glendening described the FA’s threat to England fans over booing players when they take the knee as “totalitarian“, questioning the associations insistence they are apolitical.

Marc argued: “the FA board has indeed become transformed into a sporting version of the politbureau, that can issue directives on issues that have nothing to do with soccer, where does that end?”
