Shanker Singham, Director of the International Trade and Competition Unit at the Institute of Economic Affairs, writes for Brexit Central, following the publication of the IEA’s latest briefing on the customs union.

Shanker argues continued membership of the EU Custom’s Union would limit the UK’s ability to make meaningful trade deals with other countries and that the EU would prioritise French and German agricultural goods over British exports.
