Professor Len Shackleton quoted in the Yorkshire Post

The Prime Minister’s announcement of reforms to higher education designed to boost workers skills and aid the economic recovery following coronavirus “is worthy, but it amounts to neither a convincing response to rising unemployment nor to a radical change in adult education” says Professor Len Shackleton, IEA Editorial and Research Director.

Len added that while additional funding that would allow adults without qualifications to study towards some is sensible, “it is not clear that there will be a massive demand for lower-level qualifications from either students or employers.”
