Julian Jessop quoted in The Express
IEA Economics Fellow Julian Jessop has been quoted in The Daily Express discussing proposals for a ‘Quadruple Lock’ on pensions.
The piece said:
“Julian Jessop, economics fellow at the Institute of Economic Affairs, said it was a ‘big plus’ of the policy that ‘poorer retirees living just on the state pension won’t pay income tax’.
“But he also warned there are some drawbacks with the policy, saying: ‘All pensioners will benefit, even the wealthiest; favours pensioners over younger people; further complicates the tax system; doubles down on the ‘triple lock‘ itself (which many economists believe is unsustainable)’.”

Julian was also quoted in Edinburgh Live and The Birmingham Mail.
