In an article for 1828, IEA Head of Political Economy Dr Kristian Niemietz has called out conspiracy peddlers behind the claim that the UK made secret deals with President Donald Trump for the privatisation of the NHS.

Now Trump has gone and the claims have been disproved, Kristian explains NHS privatisation hysteria will find a new villain to spread lies and panic over the NHS.

Kristian predicts the new NHS privatisation conspiracy will be based on news that the NHS used private companies to cope with a backlog of patients since the pandemic. Kristian said: “some of the usual suspects are already spinning theories about how the government is using the Covid crisis as an excuse to privatise the NHS through the backdoor“.
