The United Kingdom is facing “ever-worsening national debt over the long run and one which now poses a major threat to our economic prosperity” says Mark Littlewood, Director General of the Institute of Economic Affairs.

Writing for the Daily Telegraph following the Chancellor’s announcement of a Winter Economy Plan, Mark argues “we have now got ourselves in a situation in which we allow the Government to run sizeable deficits in the good times and colossal deficits in the bad times.”
