According to a poll of Sunday Express readers, 98 per cent want a vote on the BBC licence fee after a difficult year for the corporation.  Commenting on the news in the Express, IEA Senior Academic Fellow Professor Philip Booth argued the Beeb needs to change radically.

Philip said: “The licence fee is an anachronism, and the BBC has become a law unto itself… It should either be sold commercially or it should be owned as a mutual organisation by its subscribers“.
