Victoria Hewson features in the Daily Express
IEA Head of Regulatory Affairs, Victoria Hewson, featured in a Daily Express article reacting to the Brexit Minister Lord Frost’s speech in Lisbon, which demanded that the EU renegotiate a new arrangement to replace the current Northern Ireland Protocol (NIP). Failure to reach an agreement would mean the UK triggering Article 16 of the NIP, allowing Britain to unilaterally protect it’s interests in NI.
Victoria was quoted saying: “What I can say is that if the EU proposals tomorrow go no further than the trailed lines about sausages being special heritage goods, then I think we are on course for Article 16 sooner rather than later because that sort of gesture doesn’t come anywhere near addressing the underlying problems.”
