Mark Littlewood writes for The Times
In his fortnightly column for The Times, IEA Director General Mark Littlewood criticised the Fan-Led Review of Football, which proposed that an independent government regulator is needed to prevent financial mismanagement of English football.
Mark cited new research by the IEA, ‘Red Card: Why English Football doesn’t need an independent regulator‘ which says a regulator could reduce competition and damage smaller clubs. Read the paper here.
Mark warned that if the government adopt the proposals, “A golden era of English football, which has stretched over the past quarter of a century, would risk drawing to a close.”
