IEA Chief Operating Officer and Energy Analyst Andy Mayer has appeared on talkTV to discuss cuts to government energy bill support to businesses.

Andy said:

“Certain businesses certainly need help and the original [energy support scheme] was a very crude way to do that.

“the cost of that was about £18 billion and the government can’t afford to keep doing that, because all that means is they’re trying to save businesses today at the expense of businesses in the future…”
