Mark Littlewood writes for The Times
IEA Director General Mark Littlewood has penned his bi-weekly article for The Times on what to look out for at Conservative Party Conference. Mark argued that the government lacks a coherent economic agenda and instead relies on slogans and soundbites. He suggested keeping an eye on cabinet members Michael Gove, Rishi Sunak and Lord Frost to discern what the government’s plan for the economy truly is.
Mark said: “Because of Brexit and the pandemic the government has been one characterised by crisis management. Nearly two years into this parliament the party needs to decide whether to just manage its way through events from day to day or try to construct a new policy platform.”
