Andy Mayer, IEA Energy, Environment and Infrastructure Analyst, has commented on calls for the government to take advantage of Brexit and reduce VAT on fuel to below 5%. Such a measure would cut energy bills in the face of rising costs of living.

Regarding the proposal, Andy asserted that, “Everyone benefits from lower energy prices, and it would provide some relief while the underlying issues are addressed.”
