Christopher Snowdon responds to 'junk food' ad ban
Christopher Snowdon, the IEA’s Head of Lifestyle Economics, is quoted in City A.M. praising Just Eat for circumventing TfL’s ban on ‘junk food’ advertising and pointing out the absurdity of the rules.
The piece notes that while the TfL ban’s images of food items that are high in fat, sugar or salt from being displayed across its network, adverts containing references to fattier foods – such as the Just Eat advert mentioning a Jalfrezi curry – are still permitted because the censorship only applies to images.
