In an op-ed for CapX, IEA Head of Political Economy, Dr Kristian Niemietz, explained his new report ‘Wizards of Oz‘, a paper which explains why the UK should look to alternative healthcare models, like Australia’s, to improve patient outcomes.

Kristian argued: ” The takeaway message from all this is not that we should ditch the NHS, and import the Australian system wholesale instead. The point is simply that there are some interesting alternatives out there, that some of those produce remarkably good results, and that we would benefit from knowing a little bit more about them”.
