Simon Clarke MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, spoke to the IEA this week about why the size of the civil service should be reduced and the discussed the need for government departments to adjust their spending to high inflation.

Simon claimed that there is a “quiet revolution” taking place in the Treasury that is pushing for a re-evaluation of how public money is spent.
