IEA Editorial and Research Fellow Professor Len Shackleton has been quoted in The Daily Express responding to news that adult sickness benefits are set to soar by £10 billion over the next five years.

Len said:

“Nobody would wish to deprive seriously incapacitated people of help but we need to be quite sure that claims related to conditions which are difficult to verify are properly examined by qualified professionals rather than nodded through.”
