IEA Executive Director Tom Clougherty has been quoted in The Times criticising the government’s approach to Help to Buy and Lifetimes ISAs, as many savers are now priced out of using their ISAs because of skyrocketing house prices and government rule changes.

Tom said:

“These savers are the victims of short-sighted, politically motivated tax policy with governments announcing new schemes to generate headlines, without thinking through the details, and without working subsequently to keep them up to date and make sure they are delivering on their objectives.”
