Is a Covid public inquiry worth it?


Professor Len Shackleton quoted in The Telegraph

IEA Editorial and Research Fellow Professor Len Shackleton has penned an article in The Telegraph arguing that calls for a public inquiry into the government’s handling of the pandemic as early as June would be an “expensive waste of everyone’s time”.

Professor Shackleton said: “catharsis, blame and retribution will play a far more prominent role in the Covid investigation than, say, establishing facts”.
