Emily Carver, IEA Head of Media, appeared on BBC Question Time last night to discuss a variety of issues including the Bank of England’s attempts to curb inflation, which is currently at a 40-year high.
Commenting on the Bank’s performance, Emily argued:

“They can’t control Russia invading Ukraine but we did over the pandemic and years before that pump huge amounts of money into the economy.”
“That has led to underlying inflation that we are seeing now spiking and it is very worrying.”
