Mark Littlewood appears on talkTV
IEA Director General Mark Littlewood has appeared on talkTV to respond to the 15th March budget.
Asked about his view on the budget, Mark said:
“Underwhelming overall. I wasn’t braced for anything that was going to take my breath away.
“Changes made to pensions are wise, that you can save for your pension for as long as you want to any amount you want. That might do a bit to encourage over 50s into work.”
“But overall, the same trouble continues. We’re overtaxed, the government is spending too much money, and we’re doing very little to get rid of red tape and regulation.
“I don’t think [the budget] does an awful lot of harm, but I wanted something that was actually going to do some good. Something that was going to growth and enterprise into the economy; but this was a rather fiddly, small, unambitious budget,”
