IEA Chief Operating Officer and Energy Analyst Andy Mayer has been quoted in The Times urging the government not to bail out the failing UK steel industry.
Andy said:
“Steel customers need good value, not national champions,
“British land, energy and people are relatively expensive and will remain so … We are long past the time when we were competitive in primary manufacture.”
