Matthew Lesh appears on talkTV
IEA Head of Public Policy Matthew Lesh has appeared on talkTV to discuss the Chancellor’s recent speech outlining the government’s economic priorities.
Matthew said:
“The Chancellor is right, in one sense, to reject a lot of the doomsters and gloomsters; it’s not like the UK is set for permanent decline or downfall,
“The problem is that if Britain is to get out of its current economic rut, then it’s going to take more than just optimism, it’s going to take meaningful policy change, even some controversial moves
“There just wasn’t a lot of meat on the bone when it came to economic reform, to getting on with the plans that might actually improve Britain’s productivity.”
