Central Bank Independence: Time For A Rethink?

With inflation at 10.5%, 8.5 percentage points above the Bank of England’s target of 2%, many are asking whether the central bank’s independence should be reviewed.

IEA Academic and Research Director James Forder recently authored a piece on the matter for the Economic Affairs journal.

James’ piece, ‘The Fallacies of Central Bank Independence’, can be read here: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1111/ecaf.12554

In this video, James is interviewed on his piece by IEA Editorial and Research Fellow Professor Len Shackleton.
