Matthew Lesh quoted in iNews

Matthew Lesh, Head of Public Policy at the IEA, has been quoted in iNews commenting on the Conservative leadership race.

The article considers the growing divisions in the party resulting from Truss and Sunak’s fight for leadership, and the potential impact this could have on their performance in future elections.

Reflecting on the differences between their campaigns, Matthew said:

“The only difference we have in the campaign is probably on the tax and spend question.”

“Truss’s policy agenda is radical in rhetoric, but it’s probably not radical in details at this point… I don’t think it works to peg them on either side of the Tory Party because they are both trying to build a broad coalition of support.”
