Responding to the news that Public Health England is looking to hire a Chief Economist, the IEA’s Head of Lifestyle Economics Christopher Snowdon questioned why the quango is recruiting at all considering its abolition was announced in July.

Chris told The Sun that while “an understanding of economics is desperately needed as the UK staggers from one lockdown to another”, the “useless” quango “needs putting out of its misery once and for all.”
