In an article for CapX, IEA Head of Lifestyle Economics Christopher Snowdon has argued that the government must fulfil its promise to ease lockdown based on data, not dates.

Despite gloomy SAGE models, the success of the UK’s vaccination programme means the UK should be opening sooner than expected

Christopher said: “We are not out of the woods yet, but if things are still improving by Easter there will be a strong case for moving the roadmap forward by a month. The data are manifestly moving ahead of the dates. The public can see that. The government should acknowledge it“.
