“A government’s duty is to weigh policies in the round, not give in to single-issue tunnel vision” says Emma Revell, IEA Head of Communications, as further restrictions are announced to curtail the spread of coronavirus.

Writing for CapX, Emma argues that “we cannot endlessly suppress Covid – especially when lockdowns have such catastrophic effects”. Instead she argues we should implement policies that allow socialising and working life to continue as much as possible, while taking reasonable precautions to slow the virus until treatments and vaccines improve.
