Kristian Niemietz, Head of Political Economy at the IEA, has penned an article for CapX on the pervasive misleading claims that NHS privatisation is being pushed via a secret political agenda.

As Kristian demonstrates, relative to other countries, the NHS is far from escaping state control.

“Only one in ten British hospitals are private. In France, that old bastion of neoliberal free-market fundamentalism, more than half of them are… In Belgium and Germany, three quarters of all hospitals are private, and in the Netherlands, all of them are.”
