Professor Len Shackleton quoted in The Telegraph

IEA Transport Expert Professor Len Shackleton has been quoted in The Daily Telegraph highlighting the labour market disruption caused by continued rail strikes.

Len said:

“Certainly, this coming week it will delay the return of people to normal business – and it will be costly.

“The paradox of course is that people who can work at home are the middle class, but people who really have to get to work because they do things physically – security guards, for example –  can’t get in as easily. So they’re taking elaborate bus routes and Ubers – so it’s really hitting relatively poorer workers, rather than the stay-at-home middle class people.”
