Watching The Watchmen: A conference on liberty

Watching The Watchmen is the first conference on liberty to take place at Essex University. Referring to Robert Nozick’s idea of the Watchman State, this conference proposes the need to watch the watchmen more carefully in its attempt to serve the public better.

Featuring a number of guest speakers, the event will include talks on:

Robust Political Economy. Dr Martin Adams, Kings College London

Surveillance State. Emma Carr, Big Brother Watch

Basic Income Proposal. Sam Bowman, Adam Smith Institute

The War on Drugs. Tom Lloyd, former Chief Constable

Private Provision of Public Goods. Dr Tim Evans, The Cobden Centre
