Think Tent 2018 | Housing policies to promote intergenerational fairness

Time:

  • 01/10/2018
    12:45 - 14:00
For too long, politicians of all stripes have largely failed to address the fundamental problem of supply in the housing market. Stifling planning regulations will make it impossible for enough developers to build, no matter how much land councils are able to offer.

Our Think Tent panel will discuss how the Government can liberalise planning laws and realign incentives in favour of building. With average house prices having grown seven times faster than incomes of young adults over last two decades, what more can be done to improve access to housing for young people?

So far, confirmed speakers include:

  • Siobhain McDonagh MP

  • John Myers, founder of London YIMBY

  • Sam Collins, Policy Adviser to Mark Littlewood, Director General of the IEA

  • Kate Andrews, Associate Director of the IEA (Chair)

  • Eddie Hughes MP

Please note this event is held in the Secure Zone. A Conference pass is necessary to attend.
