Economic regulation has historically differed across sectors – and water regulation has often been seen as an outlier for historical reasons.  Through PR14 and its new strategy OFWAT is taking water regulation in a different direction and introducing innovations in the economic regulatory model.  This lecture will set out the journey OFWAT has been on, where it is going and why it is the right direction in the 21st century.
