    17:00 - 18:00
The IEA will be hosting a lively debate on Thursday 7th May, from 17:00 – 18:00 (BST) where the United States and their response to the pandemic will be the focus of our attention.

UK traditional news coverage of how the US is reacting to, and dealing with, coronavirus seems limited to the latest speech from President Trump, and peoples various reactions to it. To address this lack of information and on the ground analysis, the IEA is bringing together three leading lights from the US think tank world to get beneath the surface of what is really happening in the United States during the pandemic. Our guest speakers will be Ryan Bourne [R. Evan Scharf Chair for the Public Understanding of Economics, CATO], Joseph H Lehman [President, Mackinac Centre] and Dr Tom Palmer [Executive Vice President for International Programs, Atlas Network].

Questions will come from our audience, ably steered by our host and chair, IEA Director General Mark Littlewood. Join us as we take a deep dive into the US response to Covid-19 and debate the merits of policies and approaches being deployed and what this might all mean for the land of the free and the home of the brave.
