Marc Glendening writes in CapX
IEA Head of Cultural Affairs Marc Glendening has written in CapX warning that the jailing of two Met Policemen for sending grossly offensive WhatsApp messages sets a dire precedent for free speech.
After condemning the vile content of the messages, Marc wrote:
“in a free society people should be free to be ‘grossly offensive’, because what constitutes this is, by definition, a matter of subjective judgement.”
Marc also argued:
“Britain is incrementally, silently, transitioning away from a society committed on principle to freedom of political and cultural speech, to one in which there is an emerging state-approved ideology.”
