Balcerowicz on economic ‘shock therapy’

Prof Leszek Balcerowicz, both the former chairman of the National Bank of Poland and Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, is widely credited for his role in providing Poland with economically liberal ‘shock therapy’ in the wake of the collapse of communism in the country. ieaTV caught up with him at our State of the Economy conference to discuss his legacy in transforming the Polish economy, and to ask him what further economic reforms were needed to ensure Poland continues on the path towards a prosperous liberal economy.
