IEA Director of Public Policy & Communications Matthew Lesh has been quoted in The Daily Mail criticising policy proposals like mandatory national service and the pensions ‘triple lock plus’ as undermining young people’s basic freedoms and economic opportunities.

Matthew said:

“Young adults are being penalised economically while losing their autonomy to make decisions about their lives and bodies.

“A new form of infantilisation extending from restrictions on childhood freedom — that begin with less unsupervised time for children — is moving into young adulthood.”
