Kristian Niemietz writes for CapX on two recent hits – ‘The Platform’ and ‘Snowpiercer’ – and how their themes of no social mobility, competition between elites and the poor, and limited resources aim to show the weaknesses of capitalism.

Kristian argues actually that the existence of the films shows “that there is no such thing as a “ruling class”, and that being wealthy does not, in itself, make you culturally influential.”
