Commenting on reports that the government is considering implementing a vaccine passport to encourage the take-up of the Covid jab, IEA Head of Lifestyle Economics, Christopher Snowdon, was quoted in the Daily Express.

Christopher argued: “Vaccine passports would be illiberal, discriminatory and economically damaging… They could only be justified if we were aiming for ‘zero Covid,’ but that is not the policy – nor should it be“.

He added, “We should encourage young people to get their jabs, but the protection of others does not depend on it, and therefore there is no case for coercion.”
