Speaking to the Daily Express, IEA Head of Regulatory Affairs Victoria Hewson made the case for unilaterally opening our market and removing barriers to trade.

Now that we have left the European Union, the UK “will be able to pursue trade deals with partners that go further and focus more on our interests. The EU has not prioritised services and data flows, for example, and these areas will be vital for the UK to support innovation and sustainable growth across the country.”

But, Victoria added, international trade is only part of the picture. “The reforms available to our domestic laws and regulations will make the real difference to our future prosperity,” she said.
