IEA Head of Lifestyle Economics Christopher Snowdon has been quoted in The Daily Mail responding to the Chief Executive of the NHS Federation’s warning that people should cut their alcohol intake to protect the struggling health service.

Christopher said:

“Matthew Taylor is the embodiment of an attitude that has become worryingly common in recent years, that the British public exist to serve the NHS.

“He calls for mandatory face masks and Plan B restrictions at the drop of a hat and now wants permanent behavioural change to ‘protect the NHS’.

“If we get ill or have an accident, we want the NHS to patch us up and send us on our way. It is not there to give us orders.”
