Julian Knight, Conservative MP is quoted in The Times saying: “The licence fee is “morally on the way out” and the BBC should be required to make much of its money through optional subscriptions”.

The comments came as part of an IEA webinar on the future of the BBC. Knight spoke alongside former senior BBC employees Sir Robbie Gibb and Mark Damazer and Professor Philip Booth, IEA Senior Academic Fellow and author of “New Vision: The Future of the BBC”.
