Quoted in the Independent, IEA Economics Fellow, Professor Len Shackleton, suggested an insurance scheme is fairer than an increase in National Insurance Contributions for the funding of social care.

Len argued: “Many younger workers have been knocked sideways by the pandemic, now government is proposing a hike in national insurance contributions that will hit this group hardest.”
