IEA Chief Operating Officer and Energy Analyst Andy Mayer appeared on talkTV criticising the decision to pay households to use less energy at certain times.

Andy said:

“we’re putting the nation’s children’s tea time on a rota system in order to avoid the lights going out.

“That is a terrible look for a country that is sitting on massive reserves of oil and gas, and is highly dependant on them for heating, power, and transport.”
