Our use of sanctions could make Britain a “no-go area” for investors, warns IEA researcher

Len Shackleton, IEA Editorial and Research Fellow, has penned an article for CapX warning of the damage that sanctions may cause. This damage, Len argues, will not stop with Russian business owners, but may also harm the UK’s reputation among future foreign investors.

Of course, some overseas investors are dodgy, just as some domestic entrepreneurs are less than squeaky-clean. But most are not. Do we really want the UK, which has gained so much from inflows of foreign investment (and associated trade) in recent decades, to be seen as a no-go area in future?
