Mandatory face masks should be off the agenda

Due to falling rates of infection, “we no longer need a “one size fits all” regulatory approach to managing the risks associated with Covid-19” and that by seeking to require the wearing of face masks, ministers show that they have “become unable to distinguish between providing guidance and issuing edicts” says Mark Littlewood, IEA Director-General.

Writing for the Telegraph online, Mark argues that although Boris Johnson has liberal instincts “he must swiftly rediscover the vital distinction between the state advising a particular course of action and it being mandated.”
