IEA Head of Lifestyle Economics Christopher Snowdon has been quoted in The Daily Telegraph responding to news that the Secretary of Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities Michael Gove intervened to block a Papa John’s store from opening in Tyneside due to concerns over child obesity.

Christopher said:

“This is a small example of why the United Kingdom’s economy is in a death spiral. For all the government’s empty talk about being in favour of business and growth, it cannot resist meddling.”
